Only 20% (10 countries) of all the 50 countries in Europe are Latin. Tomorrow’s Final will be the sixth time when a Latin country (Romance speaking) will win the EURO, out of the 14 editions in total. All these 6 wins are split between three countries: Spain, France and Italy.
As a percentage of the total editions, those 6 wins represent an impressive 43%.
Are the Latin countries (Romance speaking) better than the rest of Europe? They are only 20% of Europe, but won 43% of the titles.
Population wise, they are still outnumbered: roughly a 190 Millions out of 739 Millions in total for the entire Europe, which is about 25%.
What do you think? Is Southern Europe winning in a disproportional manner?
